TOTO developed the Actilight technology which gives the WASHLET active cleaning properties.
Prior to use, the WASHLET activates the PREMIST function, spraying the inside of the toilet bowl with a fine mist of water. This water film creates a barrier that prevents dirt from adhering to the ceramic surface.
After flushing, the WASHLET introduces a mist of electrolyzed water (EWATER+), which possesses antibacterial properties to enhance cleanliness.
The toilet bowl equipped with ACTILIGHT is coated with a specialized zirconium layer featuring superhydrophilic properties. This coating allows the water film to effectively wash away dirt with ease.
The cleaning process is further enhanced by a photocatalytic mechanism. The integrated UV light in the lid works in conjunction with the water and activated oxygen to break down dirt particles, ensuring that the toilet remains clean for an extended period.
