TOTO JAPAN CLASSIC: Official LPGA Tournament Set to Showcase World-Class Women's Golf

TOTO LTD. (Headquarters: Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture; President: Noriaki Kiyota) is pleased to announce its continued sponsorship this year of the Japan Classic, a US Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) official tournament, being held at Seta Golf Course (North Course) in Otsu, Shiga Prefecture, starting Thursday, October 31. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Japan Classic, a highly prestigious tournament with an illustrious tradition, and the 10th year of TOTO’s special sponsorship.

The US Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) is an organization with a long history, founded in 1950. It launched its activities in Japan in 1973, as the LPGA Japan Golf Classic. This year, too, 43 players*1 from 13 countries worldwide will participate alongside 35 players from Japan*2. The tournament is the only official LPGA tournament in Japan, where fans can watch world-class golfers play.

In addition, this year, the Japan Ladies Professional Golf Association will invite junior high school students from the host city and surrounding areas to watch the competition, engage in volunteer work at the tournament, and experience snap golf, with the aims of further increasing the popularity of golf as a sport and contributing to the local community. A charity auction will also be held with players participating since 2020.

Through this tournament, TOTO will seek to further expand the circle of volunteer activities and social contribution activities rooted in local communities, while sharing in the excitement with all sports fans, identifying with them, and valuing bonds with society. Going forward, TOTO will continue to promote and support golf and various other sports.
